Vivid Engineering CLR-111A |
|
The CLR-111A Camera Link Repeater is an economical approach for increasing separation between camera and fame grabber. One Camera Link cable pair connects the camera to the repeater, and a second cable pair connects the repeater to the frame grabber. This arrangement provides a 20 meter reach between camera and frame grabber using standard 10m Camera Link cables. Several repeaters may be cascaded to support greater distances.
The Camera Link extender incorporates high-speed 85MHz interfaces and is compatible with all Camera Link configurations (base, medium, full, 80-bit). Front-panel status LEDs identify an active base, medium, or full configuration connection.
Combining the CLR-111A with shorter (i.e. 5m) cables provides separation while ensuring data integrity in high-performance applications.
The CLR-111A Camera Link Repeater is housed in a sturdy, compact aluminum enclosure.

Camera and/or Frame Grabber has the mini (HDR/SDR) connector?
This product incorporates the standard (MDR) connector. Camera Link cables are readily available with the standard (MDR) connector on one end and the mini (HDR/SDR) connector on the other. Note that the CLR-111A does not support PoCL.
Cable Length Note:
To ensure data integrity, we recommend limiting Camera Link cable length for cameras with high clock frequencies as follows:
Camera Frequency |
Max Cable Length |
20-60 MHz |
10m |
61-79 MHz |
7m |
80-85 MHz |
5m |
For example, cables used to connect the camera to the repeater AND the repeater to the frame grabber should be no longer than 5m with an 85 MHz camera.
